We have identified the below challenges for practical implementation of SOFT and we are working on improving the framework to address these challenges.

• Competition with venture-backed companies for talent and market share

• Challenges securing initial root fund

• Specific mechanisms for ensuring accountability and transparency

• Conflict resolution mechanisms between different stakeholder groups

Limitations

This framework is not feasible for technology development that requires significant capital investment.
